Descripción :	Objetivo. Conocer la frecu e n c ia de pacie n tes con a n giofibroma n asofa r íngeo e s tadificado según Chandle r , su perfil clínico, tratamie n to, evoluc ión y complicaciones. Sitio y fecha: Servicio de Oto rrin olaringología d el In stituto Nacional de Pediatría de la Ciudad de México, hospital de tercer n ivel, e n tre 1992 y e l 2002. Diseño. Estudio retrospectivo, longitu d in al, d escri plivo, observacio naJ. Material y métodos. Se s e lecc ion aron todos los expedie n tes de pacie ntes diagnosticados con angiofibroma nasofaríngeo y tratados en el c itado se rvic io, con expedie ntes clínico y radiológico completo con LomograiTa computada. Se recabó información clínica y paraclínica d e l pacie nte , el tratamiento a dministrado y su evolución . La información se describ ió grá fica y numéricamente mediante estadísticas desc rip tiva s ; pa ra contra star la s variables continuas, la estadificación de Chandler fungi ó como va ria ble explicativa y se utilizó la prueba de Kr uskaJ-WaJiis, con d os cola s con a = 0 .0 5. Resultados: 19 pacientes cumplieron con los c ri terios de s elección y se estadificaron de la siguie n te forma: Chandler Il , 4 pacien tes; Chandler Ill , 7 ; Chandler IV, Chandle r. En los e s tadios Il y Jll, todos los pacien tes fu e ron intervenidos quirúrgicamente, algunos en combinación con o tro tratamiento; en el IV, cinco pacientes no fu e ron interven idos por la gran exten sión in t racra neaJ; o tros dos pa cientes fue ron inte rvenidos por vía de d egloví ng y olro por a bo rdaje combinado. Objective :. To determine nasopharyngeal angiofibroma frequency in terms of Chandler's classification, as well as its clinical profile, treatment, evolution and complications. Date and · place: Otorrinolaringology Service in lhe National Institute of Pediatrics of Mexico City, a third leve! facility, between 1992 and the 2002. Design: Retrospective, longitudinal, descriptive, observational study. Material and methods: Al! n asopharyngeal angiofibroma patients that underwent treatment in the mentioned service and had a complete clinical and radiological file which included computed tomography were selected. The following information was collected: clinical and paraclinical information, treatment administered, and evolution. The information was described both graphically and numerically. To statistically compare continuos variables in terms of Chandler's classification, a two-tailed , alpha=0.05, K.ruskal-Wallis tes t was used. Results: 19 patien ts fulfilled the selection criteria and were staged as: Chandler 11, 4 patients; Chandler III, 7; Chandler IV, 8. All patients, both in Stages JI and m were operated, sorne of them received other treatments; five patients in Stage IV, did not receive surgical treatment due to large size of the intracraneal extension. In the three remaining patiep.ts: two received degloving, and another, a combined treatment.
